Providers Can Still Participate with PQRI in 2008
It’s not too late to participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) for 2008.
Eligible professionals—including MDs, DOs, CRNPs, CRNAs, and PAs—can report certain quality data to CMS to earn a bonus of 1.5 percent of their Medicare allowed charges in 2008. The bonus will increase to 2 percent in 2009 and 2010. The program is voluntary and participants do not have to participate with Medicare.
