Medical Product Safety Tools Available on FDA Website

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) offers a number of electronic medical product safety tools on its website. 

Providers can:

• Access the FDA’s MedWatch website to find medical product safety information
• Subscribe to MedWatch listserv notification or RSS news feeds
• Download audio broadcasts 

The FDA and the National Library of Medicine worked together to offer updated prescription drug labels free on the library’s DailyMed website. The administration and private health care organizations also are exploring a nationwide electronic network that would analyze medical product adverse events and alert providers.
